Its a number of things that can added its just a matter of time ........

Permalink Reply by SK on May 10, 2012 at 10:31pm Another MIDI out or two would be nice. Quarter inch inputs too. But I imagine this would drive up the price as it would be a built in audio interface. A color display would be next level. Maybe a touch pad to control effects for live performances. At the moment I'm pretty content with the controller. Just hoping NI will add multicore support and possibly a linear (or performance) recording mode with the next software upgrade. That along with a few other minor tweaks.
Permalink Reply by Josh Johnz on May 11, 2012 at 4:57pm Has anyone mentioned softer pads? I'd love to see some made by NI... mpcstuff.com sells some now if you want to take your controller apart. Another thing id like is a curser in sample mode that shows you where the sample is playing. This would be helpful for loading longer tracks to pull samples from before you chop(especially manual chopping), finding the perfect start/end point quickly. the same as any DAW or similar to the George Duke Plug. I would have to think with Akai dropping the mpc's this year that NI would release a new version of hardware/sofware with a few upgrades...and the mpc renaissance looks like a beast.
Permalink Reply by djdesignz on May 14, 2012 at 1:36pm I like many of the ideas presented and I definitely would love to see a flip up touch sensitive color screen, with maybe a generic linux OS to provide two functions in the unit:
01. To allow for wireless connectivity to devices and to the desktop/laptop so we don't have to be tethered via the USB cable. Then I could be anywhere in the house connected without wires! ;)
02. Provide minimal standalone functionality through some USB ports to connect a thumb drive, or an external drive that the OS allowed us to browse and load samples from. So if you wanted to try out varying ideas, just throw Maschine and a thumb drive with your samples in a bag an go... that would be sweet! (I know... I know... iMaschine was developed to be the sketchpad)
Just a thought... Peace!
