So native instruments just announced a new product called Maschine Mikro. After reading about it looks like this is a great alternative for people who don't want to give up all that money, but still want maschine capabilities. I really don't see the need for it for people who already have the maschine (unless they just want a smaller form of it).

Native Instruments also just announced releasing an iPad and iPhone app, iMaschine. For $4.99 you can had some of maschine capabilities on your mobile device. I thought this was pretty cool.

What do you guys think? (you specifically Joe lol)

:)

Yeah Mikro is intended as an entry point as well as an extra controller, many Maschine users wanted something smaller for mobile use so...Mikro.

The iPad/iOS app is long overdue, I think any development do the Maschine platform is good :)

Of course, I may be a lil biased, yall know I love my Maschine hahahaha.

haha I am too Joe, its pretty much essential to my setup and workflow. I think the app would be cool to have on the go..you never know when creativity or inspiration will come. And I like how you can finish up the project or recall it from the Maschine software in your computer. Native Instruments doing big things the fall :)
word man, real talk

I'm definitly lookin' forward to using iMaschine and I think this kinda explains where their "focus" has been and why some of the things many of us were hoping to be resolved haven't shown up in the 1.7 update. With that said, I think NI is positioning or further cementing their position in this market and as such we'll begin to see (I HOPE) them address some of the issues people have clamored for. Sometimes, not having "the big picture" in view it's easy to criticize what NI hasn't done (I know that's not the point of this thread), but I'd rather have updates that resolve users issues, but are also in line with NI's big picture (although we're not always privy to that).

I'm excited about Mikro's potential to expand their user base, I'm excited about iMaschine and the possible tight intergration with Maschine and one thing is for sure... this will open up a WHOLE new list of issues and missing functionality that users will complain about (and rightfully so) with these 3 devices, lol!

All and all though, I think this will make the devices better and hopefully NI will prove they've been listening with their next update!

PEACE!

I agree
I find that Maschine Mikro is a very good idea. The original Maschine is great in studio work but a smaller pad controller is way better for gigs. Not sure about the iPhone app (I have a Samsung) but hey, it doesn't hurt me either, u know.
word, I agree with the mobile/smaller version. perfect for taking on trips :)

For me, any development to the "world of maschine" is good news... the more people who buy into it, the more money gets spent on developing it.

I think lots of Traktor users could be picking up the Mikro in the near future, I also find it interesting that the iMaschine has a 4-track audio recorder... something I could makes use of on Maschine proper.

I agree...let's hope some of that stuff moves on over to the big brother :)
great idea on the mikro id get it just to have it in my setup or for when im on the outdoors and wanna make tracks but all in all good idea

Both great additions to the Maschine family.  Although the Mikro would be great for traveling, seems its more geared toward users who want to work on this platform starting at a lower price point.  I mean, its not like the Maschine controller is that big anyhow.  Compared to an MPC its quite portable.  Fits easily into a backpack and its light weight.  I have to say I'm digging how the pads light up blue on the Mikro.  That's a good look.

Plus iMaschine works on iPhone or iPad?!

Its the Takeover!!!
